Mauro Perucchetti

“Modern Heroes & Michelangelo 2020 A Tribute to Women”

Mauro Perucchetti brings together the Conceptual, Minimalist and Pop Art traditions in a painstakingly sculpted body of work made of resin and crystals, chrome and steel. Reliant on symbols to convey meaning, his attractive, light-hearted pieces deal out pointed political and social critique, subtly addressing some of the most pressing issues in contemporary society.

I would like to own these really nice statues. I don’t mind which one. I don’t descriminate!

Beth Cavener Stichter (featured in Hi-Fructose Vol. 16) caught our attention with her raw sculptural style. The artist forms animals by hollowing out blocks of clay, giving her subjects a raw, unrefined appearance as if they sprang from the material itself. In her latest body of work for her second solo show at Claire Oliver Gallery, “Come Undone,” Cavener Stichter refined her aesthetic, creating animal sculptures that are more stylized with deep grooves and glazed with different shades of gray — a departure from her minimally embellished work from the past. Take a look at a few images from “Come Undone,” which opens September 13 at Claire Oliver in New York City.

This is so cool

Here’s 4 comic pages I did for a 3rd-5th grade reading textbook! The panel layout and content was given to me, and the story is based on a Hawaiian myth about Pele (goddess of fire) and her sister Makore (sea goddess). It involves love triangles and canoe escapes and lots of waves! Additional explanation & sketches on my blog.

This just looks to great to not reblog!

I can't see a thing in this bucket: The 'magic' of computers

thehappysorceress:

I’m a big supporter of artists. I love what they do & believe their works should be seen & appreciated.

You can’t do that without proper credit.

And while I’m hardly an expert, I do know certain artists well enough to spot their work by sight.

Last night, I saw this…

Artist to look out for: Jemma Salume

Hello fellow art lovers,

Today I will write about the not famous enough graphic artist with the nickname ‘Eatfun’ Jemma Salume. Her work was chosen, because to me is represents the typical illusion that art should have. This illusion consists of complex art which looks simple enough to the viewer believe that even he or she could create the image, but believe me the illustrations are more complex to make. Especially when you need to create the illustration from nothing but an idea.

Something else that her illustrations just gives it that little inch that makes the champion is her character or atleast the character that she shows on blog and portfolio. It even shows through her art which gives it so much more.

For me she shows that being yourself and doing what you love gives it this little extra shine with what you do and you should follow your dreams. This is what I get out for her work and hope that she will agree with what I am saying.

You can follow her at tumblr or at Deviantart.

Artist to look out for: Warren Louw

Hello fellow humans, bots and other creatures,

Here is the second edition of my new article Artist to Look Out for. This time artist someone who is in my opinion a great artist and concept artist. He was featured in several artbooks like ‘The pepper project’, ‘Dartkstalker tribute’, ‘Streetfighter tribute’ and in he made several cover for (my girl) power girl.

If I am honoust. I’m a fan from my start he was the first one from who I began to collect all his work from and now that ‘little folder’ is a few GB’s big =]. He has a technique to smoothen the colors and to make the girls looks cute and sexy without over doing it.

At this moment my big love this movieposter ‘you are the creator’ (see picture on the side). He inspired by his design and use of design and poses, also the easy looking designs helps a lot with the inspiration.

In conclusion Warren Louw as already astablished himself in the art community, but I still want to give him this attention, because of my love for his work. I mean a girl has to have her own lovebled collection ;]. If you want to follow him you can! Here are the links: CGHUB and Deviantart.

Hello People,
Yes you have to believe it now and you can´t get past it anymore. We are going to start with the art section of this blog (YAAAAAY!!!!). We are going to start with the painting Guernica by Pablo Picasso (and one of my favourite paintings).
Pablo Picasso painted the painting Guernica as a reaction of the bombing of Guernica (the city/ village) by the second world war starter the germans.
The painting itself is only done in black, white and grey and is about 11 feet tall and 26 feet wide. All the figures in the painting have their own story and some of the figure are hidden. Try to find them all, if you don’t want to just wikipedia it (in shame… or interest).
If you want to view Guernica in real life and full size you have to travel to Madrid and visit Museo Reina Sofia. I went like four times and I still don’t get bored of seeing the painting, so in my opinion it is a must see!

future and the past of the blog

Dear fellow earth-creatures and beyond,

As some of you may know art is what my life (mostly) is about. I was rised with it and for as long is I could remember would have sketchbook with me to draw all kind of things.

Almost two years ago I started this blog to improve my own skill in illustrating and to gain more knowledge about it. I like where my blog is now, but I also have the feeling I have to stay true the basics and this why I decided to write more about artist (game and comic artist included) and show of my own sketches and illistrations.

have a good day and like always let me know what you think :)
